Office of Councilman I. Daneek Miller to Assist with Free Pre-K Enrollment

Friday, August 8, 2014
Finding affordable, reliable and well-run childcare for young children can be one of the most challenging experiences for a family. Lack of adequate childcare can place mental, emotional and financial strain on parents, grandparents and other family members.

Mayor De Blasio's push to increase the availability of free Universal Pre-K in NYC is a tremendous initiative to help working families. Councilman I. Daneek Miller is helping in this initiative by offering enrollment hours at his district office on August 11, 18 and 25th.  Parents (including grandparents and guardians) should take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.

"Universal Pre-K has been a huge benefit to my own family," said Isa Abdur-Rahman, executive director of Farmers Boulevard Community Development Corp.  "UPK has helped me to go to work while my wife finished her degree, and our children have gotten a good start educationally in good environments."

If you care for a child born in 2010, take advantage of the UPK enrollment opportunities this month at Councilman I. Daneek Miller's office:
