Seeking buyers and businesses for new development on Farmers Blvd

Wednesday, August 26, 2015

Construction is now underway on the previously vacant lot at 113-50 Farmers Boulevard, Saint Albans, Queens (the intersection of Farmers Blvd. & Murdock Avenue).  The project is planned as four attached, 3-story, 2-family residential homes – all for sale.  However, the developer is prepared to convert the ground floor of each building to commercial space if there are buyers interested in having business establishments at these locations.  The upper floors of each building would still have apartments.

Referring to them as the “Core Four” buildings, Farmers Boulevard Community Development Corp. (FBCDC) believes that these four new properties have great potential to uplift the Farmers corridor … if commercial space is included and if the right businesses occupy these spaces.  Some types of business that FBCDC wants to attract to these locations are as follows:
  • Café/ bakery
  • Health food & natural supplement boutique
  • Home care office/ elder care agency
  • Law office
  • Pediatrician, pediatric dentistry
  • Optometrist/ optician
An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, Aug 27, 2015, at 6:30-8:30pm at 113-16 Farmers Boulevard (Have it Here Event Hall a/k/a “The Triangle Building”).  The purpose of the meeting is to pre-qualify possible buyers, suitable business operators and alternative business ideas for the Core Four buildings.  The people who should attend this meeting are:
  • Business owners who want to own property at this location and operate their business here.
  • Home buyers who want to live at this location and rent-out the ground floor space to a business establishment.
  • Investors who want to own a mixed-use property at this location.
  • Business owners who want to rent 1,000 sq. ft. of commercial space at this corner.
  • Real estate agents and commercial mortgage brokers who can assist in these transactions.
  • Local residents and merchants who want to give their input and ideas.
Please share this info with your colleagues and contacts.  RSVP for the meeting via email to isa@farmersblvd.org and include your name and affiliation.  Thank you very much for your interest and participation.
